What the herb matcher and plant journal save locally, what requests the website makes, and the limits of browser storage.
Saved on this browser
The matcher stores location type, sunlight choice, and available-space choice in localStorage. My plants stores plant identity, custom name, start method, start date, growing location, observation stage, and dated notes in localStorage on this browser and origin. These features do not send their entries to a plant-record server. They need no account and do not sync between devices or browsers. Anyone using this browser profile may be able to read the records. Do not enter sensitive information.
Control and limitations
Clear filters resets the selection; Restore previous choices can restore the immediately preceding selection in the current visit. Plant records can be edited or deleted, with a confirmation before deletion. Clear all saved plants removes the journal after confirmation. Clearing site data or using a different browser or origin can lose access to the records. Private browsing and storage restrictions may prevent persistence; the page reports failures. An optional JSON download exports your journal to a file you control.
Requests and external references
Loading pages and brand assets makes requests to the site host. The matcher and journal do not call a weather service, plant API, or third-party image service. Opening a cited source navigates to an external website with its own privacy practices. Hosting logs and retention are unknown here; ordinary requests can expose IP addresses and browser information to hosting providers.
Visit and performance statistics
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures visits and page performance. Your browser makes requests to Cloudflare for this purpose. This integration uses no analytics cookies and does not send matcher selections, journal entries, or other tool/form input.
Email contact
Using the Contact link opens your email app. Sending email shares your sender address and message with the recipient and the email providers involved. Their retention practices have not been confirmed. This site has no contact form.
